Do Make Say Think
September 17th, 2007 by nicholas
I’m going to see Do Make Say Think at the Grey Eagle in Asheville. I saw them at the Empty Bottle about a year ago and it was pretty wonderful.
Also, their newest album is, in my humble opinion, their best. I’m pretty excited.
Speaking of which, I keep planning on going to Harvest Records. They are apparently responsible for bringing this show and Yellow Swans will be droning in their shop soon. They were also the last featured shop on The Drama’s (art magazine) website.

Back from europa and the art history trip to end all art history trips. Highlights:grunewald’s eisenheim altarpiec, Colmar, Alsatian France. Descent from the Cross, Rogier van der Weyden, the Prado, madrid, spain, The Life of Christ, Giotto (my main man!), Scrovegni Chapel, Padua, Italy, the magnificent dialogue between Masaccio’s Trinity on the left wall, and Giotto’s crossed-shaped Crucixion panel, suspended from the immense interior of Santa Maria Novella. Discovering the “hidden” stone burial marker of Sandro Botticelli in his childhood church parish of Ognissanti….
doing encaustics, also just had 3 fine 40″ x 60″ birch ply panels made for me…raring to go. perhaps i’ll do the rabbits skin ground, if i have the patience, as this is preferred for mixing oils with encaustic, over gesso….hee ha!
